TEENAGE H.I.V MOTHERS: Kenya has Africa’s highest rates of adolescent pregnancy, a factor that affects the health, education, economy and earning potential of millions of Kenyan girls. According to the recent report by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Kenya comes second after Niger with 48 percent of women between 18 and 23 reporting a birth before the age of 18 years. When a girl becomes pregnant or has a child, her health, education and her entire future falls in jeopardy, trapping her in a lifetime of poverty, exclusion, stigma and powerlessness. Girls in Africa offer enormous untapped potentials to drive African development, and investing in adolescent mothers will unleash their full potential to shape humanity’s future.
This program runs AFRICAN-ART PROJECT which endeavors to transform lives, rebuild dreams, visions, aspirations and ambitions of teenage single mothers who had lost hope of life as a result of giving birth early.
